The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting our products to university lecturers and key academic bookshops in the region. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as part of this successful academic team.\n\nKey responsibilities:\n\nTo visit key individuals within educational/institutional customer organisations on a regular basis to: \n* obtain adoptions of products/sales of new titles\n* develop understanding of market and customer needs\n* distribute product information\n* build and maintain customer relationships\n\nTo be responsible for all sales-related activity within own territory. This would include: \n* developing and maintaining customer relationships\n* identifying new customers\n* developing and maintaining understanding of local market, including cultural influences where relevant\n* planning customer visits\n* maintaining database\n* submitting sales reports on activity, prospects, competitor analysis and market trends to Sales, Marketing and Editorial departments\n* monitoring performance of territory against targets\n\nTo visit independent bookshops and/or Key Account customers outlets on a regular basis to service account through:\n* obtain orders to new titles\n* take orders from backlist\n* restock/maintain inventory levels\n* position and maintain point of sale material\n* agree local promotions\n* build and maintain customer relationships\n* feedback of customer information to Sales Manager\n* restocking    \n\nTo own and manage the budget. This would include: \n* planning expenditure on travel, entertainment and promotions\n* monitoring spend against target\n* submitting relevant documentation to support budget spend\n\nTo be responsible for maintaining own awareness of product range in order to sell effectively.
