Standard & Poor's Corporate Ratings is an Associate for the Corporate Ratings Media & Entertain team base in Chicago. Standard & Poor’s offers its corporate clients a suite of ratings services that are meant to help demonstrate a corporation’s financial strength to its potential business partners or investors and to improve access to the global credit market. Standard & Poor’s corporate services include: Credit Ratings are based on analysis performed by experienced professionals who evaluate and interpret information from a multitude of sources, credit ratings provide a detailed opinion about a corporation’s credit risk.
Associate responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Managing relationships with senior executives of Fortune 1000 companies
* Preparing credit and security analysis for rating committees
* Monitoring and responding to credit developments and interacting with investors
* Publishing and updating credit reports
* Speaking at industry conferences
Associates must demonstrate the ability to communicate Standard & Poor's Ratings methodology and to manage relationships with issuers, bankers, auditors, financial advisors and colleagues. A strong intellectual curiosity and the ability to respond to market changes or to offer creative financing solutions, as well as develop new products and risk models, are critical for advancement.
Candidates who are interested in the Associate position with Standard & Poor's Corporate Ratings must possess the following qualifications:
* Completion of an MBA degree, CFA or CPA designation a plus
* Proficiency in financial statement analysis
* Strong quantitative skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability and desire to publish analysis
* Ability to work well in a team environment and multi-task
* Candidates must hold permanent work authorization for the country for which they apply
