S&amp;P Capital IQ is seeking an Application Developer Lead to be a key player in the analysis, design, implementation, and support of Equity Research applications. This role requires a seasoned technologist, who works effectively, both independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment. The candidate must be a delivery-focused person with solid financial applications experience skills. The candidate will report to the Director of Application Development and will assist with day-to-day support and operations functions, design, development, code reviews, unit testing, and deployment tasks.

The responsibilities also include:
* Design and develop industry-leading Java applications supporting the Equity Research business
* Produce system design documents and participate in technical walkthroughs
* Respond to and resolve production issues
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. MS in Computer Science highly desirable
* A minimum of 6 years of experience in software development in a Unix, Java/J2EE Relational Database (Oracle preferred) environment
* Strong web application development experience delivering Java applications using technologies, such as: Spring, Hibernate, AJAX and AJAX Frameworks, JSP, Object Oriented JavaScript, JSON, HTML, CSS 1 &amp; 2.
* Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies (RUP or Agile preferred)
* Hands-on experience with XML/XSLT and XPATH
* Proficiency in the development environment, including IDE, web server, application server, source control system, unit-testing tool and defect management tool
* Strong understanding of system architecture, object-oriented design, standard java frameworks (SPRING, Hibernate, xstream, iText, FOP etc.) and design patterns.
* Strong Oracle PL/SQL, stored procedures, SQL optimization skills
* Able to assess and evaluate risk and understand the implications of new technologies
* Rapidly absorb new and complex technical information and apply it effectively
* Excellent communication skills are essential, with strong verbal and writing proficiencies
* Experience of Equity asset classes is useful.
* Ability to develop comprehensive technical specifications that bridge business/product need with systems design/deliverables
* Experience in researching appropriate technical solutions for business needs
* Experience in identifying risks and participating in risk mitigation activities
* Experience in delegating tasks, building trust

The primary responsibilities of Lead Application Security Developer
on the S&amp;P Capital IQ, S&amp;P Indices Identity Management team are to develop
and support the application security platform, assist application development
teams with integration, and perform onboarding tasks.

Candidates
for this position will join a premier team delivering authentication,
authorization, and federation solutions to business units that host external
web sites used by individual and corporate customers. The responsibilities
also include:


* 
Gain a full understanding of
  the platform and the specific use of the Oracle Identity and Access Management
  products of which it is comprised: Oracle Identity Manager, Oracle Access
  Manager, Oracle Entitlements Server, and Oracle Identity Federation.
* 
Provide guidance and support to
  application development teams who are integrating with the platform.
* 
Perform development tasks such
  as automation, scripting, and reporting.
* 
Serve as a subject matter expert
  on our Enterprise Identity and Access Management stack.
* 
Create and deliver
  presentations, communicating technical and highly complex security design information
  to developers, management and public groups.
Required
skills and experience:

* Microsoft .NET development,
  including C#, VB, C , COM/Win32/XLL.
* Proficiency with Visual Studio,
  IIS web server, and SVN source control system.
* Hands-on familiarity with
  Microsoft SQL Server, e.g. stored procedure development.
* Background in application
  security, specifically Single Sign On.
* Strong background with one or
  more of the following: Oracle Access Manager, CA SiteMinder, Sun Identity
  Manager, RSA ClearTrust, or IBM Tivoli Identity Manager.
* Strong desire to learn and
  develop in the application security space.
* Excellent written and oral
  communication skills, inter-personal skills, and the ability to take
  ownership and work effectively as part of a team.
* Demonstrated strong
  organizational, analytical and problem solving skills


Candidates
should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a development or
operations role, including a minimum of 2 years of experience in application
security and identity management.


Desired
technical skills:

* Familiar with application
  security concepts including web-based, Web Service-based and messaging-based
  application security.
* Experience in Service Oriented
  Architecture (SOA), with understanding of Web Service security and
  Messaging (such as JMS) security.
* Experienced installing,
  configuring, managing and deploying an application server such as
  WebLogic, a web server such as Apache, and a directory server such as Sun
  LDAP.
* Knowledge of End-to-End
  Security and Threat modeling.
Educational
Requirements:
* A
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline is preferable.
