Title: Automotive Manufacturing Consulting
Location: US-MI-Troy

We are currently seeking a Director of Automotive Manufacturing Consulting in Troy, MI; Westlake Village, CA; or Orange, CA.
Responsibilities:
* Sell and execute quality focused production process improvement projects to OEMs and Tier-1s
* Take part in customer focused product evaluations to support OEM product quality/satisfaction improvements
* Activities include being on site at OEM or Tier-1 assembly facilities (global range) and effectively working with all levels of personnel, from shop floor to Plant President to serve as a change agent and trusted advisor on production system design
* Assess the effectiveness of client quality systems and identify opportunities for improvement
* Develop and present detailed reports that include findings and practical recommendations for process improvement based on industry best practices
* On-site implementation of recommendations with a focus on teaching / supporting clients with understanding how to use processes such as 5S, structured problem solving and process audits to improve the capability of their quality systems
* Working knowledge of automotive product development processes and how to leverage improvements in product design into the product develop cycle
* Refining current products and services to adapt to changing client needs
Required:
* Bachelors of Science in Engineering; Masters degree preferred
* 10-15 years related experience
* 7 years of progressive experience in all levels of discipline and management
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong background / practical experience in process / quality improvement (automotive assembly operations) at a senior operating level.
* Experience leading organizational / process improvement / transformation initiatives
* Strong executive presence
* Experience working with automotive product development / engineering organizations (including experience working as part of an automobile development team)
* Familiarity with automotive product development processes / methods
* Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to distill and simply convey key points from multiple sources of data
* Ability to communicate complex concepts to all operating levels across global cultures
* Position requires strong skills in the use of MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
* Position requires significant global travel
* Experience with statistical data analysis tools is helpful
* Working knowledge of quality/reliability, lean, Six Sigma and other key industry concepts essential
* Passion for automotive products/technology helpful
* Position will be focused primarily on leading / supporting manufacturing quality improvement projects and will support product quality related activities as project workloads require
